This past Sunday the Fairhope Unitarian Fellowship Children and Teens participated in an educational journey exploring holidays and traditions around the world.
Starting of the presentation singing multi-lingual songs followed by informative speeches on eight different countries or holidays; Hanukkah, Christmas, Ramadan, Diwali, Winter Solstice, Harvest, Chinese New Year and Kwanzaa. The children exchanged gifts, talked about their own family traditions and enjoyed treats from around the world.
There were homemade paper lanterns for the Chinese New Year, shared experiences for Las Posadas in Mexico, candleholders for Kwanzaa and Challah bread for Hanukkah.
“It’s nice to know about all the different traditions.” Said one of the children after the performance.
